The Kennesaw State University Peace Project (KSU) Peace Project was a city-wide initiative carried out by the students at Kennesaw State University to break the Guinness Book World Record for the largest peace sign made of humans. The daylong event took place at Kennesaw State University on March 31, 2012, in Kennesaw, GA, a suburb of Atlanta, GA. World Youth Served (WYS) was one of the participating organizations in the event, and two members of the WYS Board of Directors volunteered a total of 20 hours to the event (16.7% of total organization time in 2012). About 20 or so other organizations
participated as well, and the event was a great success (the official world record was broken).
The WYS Board of Directors contributed a banner to the event as well ($104.95), and the event allowed WYS President Jesse Boyd to present the organization to students and faculty at Kennesaw State. This allowed WYS to establish strong ties with the university and indeed, KSU Peach Project President Mrs. Jessie Blowers offered to join the organization in 2014, pending approval by the Board of Directors.
