Hello!
We are WORLD YOUTH SERVED, INC., a nascent not-for-profit organization headquartered in Atlanta, GA and involved in projects and programs both on the national and international levels. We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with universities such as CORNELL UNIVERSITY, starting with a grassroots fundraising contribution of $5,000 to the 2014 EDUCATIONAL AWARENESS DINNER, scheduled for late 2014. This endeavor has already started with students from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA and we are challenging Cornell University and its student to MATCH the efforts of Georgia State University!
The funds raised for the 2014 EDUCATIONAL AWARENESS DINNER will benefit youth that are in need of help IMMEDIATELY, as well as highlight WORLD YOUTH SERVED'S commitment to education. Indeed, we have some students that are in need of urgent support in Atlanta, GA. Whether it's Jaylen (not his real name), a 19-year-old who was FIFTY points shy of passing the GENERAL EDUCATIONAL DIPLOMA (or GED) in 2013 or Kenisha (not her real name) who is a bright 16-year-old with a psycho-affective disorder and need help getting her GED, the efforts will be providing immediate support! In addition, there is Patricia (not her real name), a single mother AND grandmother who adopted SIX youth in foster care and need some help with Isaac (not his real name), who happens to be a kinesthetic learner! Your contribution is priceless, and extends FAR beyond your universe, which is the core mission of WORLD YOUTH SERVED!
Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will benefit deserving students nationwide in need of a little "financial boost" with their tuition, through the Collegiate Endowment Fund. One of the goals of World Youth Served, Inc. (WYS) is to provide scholarships (rather than loans) to students from colleges and universities awarding either two-year or four-year degrees specifically, and who volunteer with WORLD YOUTH SERVED to further its mission of providing mentoring and support to underprivileged children in the greater Atlanta area, including all related activities such as fundraising efforts on behalf of WYS, raising awareness of WYS’s programs in their local communities, mentoring and tutoring kids in their area. WYS intends to publicize this program through the Partner Institutions such as Georgia State University or even Cornell University, if the opportunity is right!
Finally, our education awareness is not just about inner-city youth tuition in Atlanta or deserving low-income collegiate students nationwide. It's also about education beyond the comfort of our US Borders, and to that effect, World Youth Served will soon be partnering with Shaping Haiti's Youth, Inc. to create a college of Arts and Sciences in the Community Center at LaSource Dommage (CCSD) in Jeremie, Haiti (http://www.shapinghaitisyouth.org/opportunities.html). This international educational program will be built from a consortium of 10 to 12 organizations, both headquartered in the US and in Haiti.
We look forward to the participation of Cornell University in our our organization and our endeavors, especially for our 2014 EDUCATIONAL AWARENESS DINNER!
With Compassion, Commitment and Character,
