The WYS Volunteer Task Force gathered at the Intown Academy (corner of Pine and Fulton Streets in downtown Atlanta) for four hours of cleanup of the grounds of the property, as World Youth Served prides itself on being heavily involved in the community by being an active part of youth centered and city improvement events. With Hands on Atlanta, World Youth Served was not only be able to enrich the community but also spread the word about its many causes while being an example that there are people who are prepared to make this world, this city a better place. And on this past Saturday October 18, World Youth Served again fulfilled its mission by partnering with organizations and individuals across Atlanta for the largest community service day in the city.

World Youth Served (WYS) is a non-profit organization built to help the youth in our community succeed, with an emphasis on education, sports development, and community support. The principal objective of this volunteer work at WYS was to raise awareness of the WYS Learning Assistance Legacy Program, which aims to support at-risk youth in advancing their education. WYS strategically partners with organizations in Atlanta that directly support these students in all areas of education. WYS strongly believes – and is also gathering the data to support it – that there is no such thing as a lost cause with educational support, as these disaffected children should have a chance to truly succeed and know that there are people young and old who will not just walk away from them.

Finally, World Youth Served would like to thank the following individuals for volunteering in this event:

Jerome Gaither (Fayetteville, GA)

Christopher Martin (Tyrone, GA)

Thi Nguyen (Lawrenceville, GA)

Eku Oben (Atlanta, GA)

Chinelo Okonkwo (Lawrenceville, GA)

Hakim Sabur (Tyrone, GA)
