World Youth Served (WYS) has been working tirelessly since 2011 to bring happiness and equal opportunities to the creative, young adults that need it the most. As an organization of dedicated individuals, the mission is always to offer educational programs, mentoring, and sports development to the children, not only domestically but also internationally. Recently, WYS has partnered with Atlanta MathPlus tutoring at-risk youth to raise their self-confidence and motivation to learn. This mentoring has brought such a noticeable transformation to these individuals’ life that there has been a continuous growth past the point of support. From an international standpoint, World Youth Served has also been working with Shaping Haiti’s Youth to promote the reconstruction of adequate educational and housing facilities as well as the return of stability for the children.

Entering into 2015, World Youth Served is increasing in size to take on more and more projects to benefit youth development. WYS is preparing to launch the expansion of the Soccer Legacy Project, which will donate 1000 soccer balls to the poverty-stricken areas of four countries including Haiti. Each underprivileged child will be hand-delivered a ball with a message of hope in their native language from some of their favorite athletes. This project will be continued every few years around the time of the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup to revive the spirits of the children yearning to be an accomplished athlete one day as well.
There will also be many efforts to enlarge the current mentoring program and surpass the total of 100 kids tutored. Through World Youth Served, children are given private attention to encourage them to excel in their studies in a safe environment. While the main focus is assisting each child with tasks such as reading or basic math comprehension, the students are able to forge a healthy relationship with their mentor to feel comfortable expressing themselves and gain a new sense of self-determination. WYS has been recently concerned with three young adults that have undergone tremendous amounts of both physical and sexual abuse that have abandoned all faith in a healthy family structure for the future. With constant encouragement and support along the way, these students have reached the top of their class and are blossoming into confident, young adults. That being said, they were ejected from the system prematurely and began spirally back down into old habits. World Youth Served is taking every action necessary to return them to their mentors as soon as possible, inhibiting any more traumatic experiences that may occur.
With just a small contribution of either $25 or $75, donations will be used to help fund these opportunities and directly impact the young lives that are hopeful for a better future. Eager adolescents are waiting every day to be sanctioned into this flourishing community of students and begin to direct their lives onto a better path for success. These children deserve so much better than all of the misfortune that has been thrown into their lives beyond their control. Our promise is to give them every equal opportunity to grow and be cherished, that they were deprived of. Every penny donated will immediately go towards helping a child realize their potential and be the person they always dreamed they could become. After all, dreams are what inspired the growth of this country, and not one should be overlooked due to the circumstance of where it began.
